アメリカの旅行誌『トラベル・アンド・レジャー』のウェブ版で「世界で最も美しい14駅」に選出されました
Kanazawa Station, the gateway to Kanazawa tourism.
The east exit (Kenrokuen Exit) of Kanazawa Station features the wooden “Tsuzumi-mon” gate and the glass “Motenashi-Dome”, which have become popular photo spots.
It was selected as one of the “14 Most Beautiful Stations in the World” by the web edition of the American travel magazine Travel + Leisure.
鼓門（つづみもん）Tsuzumi-mon
金沢駅の正面に立つ巨大な「鼓門」は、高さ約13.7mの大きな木製の門で、金沢に古くから根付く能楽・加賀宝生で使われる鼓をイメージしてデザインされています
The colossal “Tsuzumi-mon” gate standing directly in front of Kanazawa Station is a large wooden structure approximately 13.7 metres tall, designed to evoke the drums used in Noh theatre and Kaga Hōshō, traditions deeply rooted in Kanazawa since ancient times.
もてなしドームMotenashi-Dome
金沢駅東口から鼓門までを覆う巨大なガラスアーチ「もてなしドーム」は、「雨の金沢で降り立つ人に傘を差し出す」イメージで作られています
金沢は雨と雪が多い土地柄のため、傘を刺さずに移動できるようにという“おもてなし”の設計です
昼は自然光が降り注ぐ開放的な空間で、夜はライトアップされ幻想的な雰囲気となり、フォトスポットとしても人気があります
金沢駅の新幹線ホームの柱には最高級の金箔が貼られていたり、金沢駅構内の柱には加賀友禅や和紙が貼られた工芸プレートがあります
他にも駅内各所には九谷焼・輪島塗・山中漆器などの伝統工芸品が至る所にあり、美術館のようにも楽しめます
The vast glass arch known as the “Omotenashi Dome”, spanning from Kanazawa Station’s East Exit to the Drum Gate, was designed with the image of “offering an umbrella to those arriving in rainy Kanazawa”.
Given Kanazawa’s frequent rain and snow, this “hospitality” design allows visitors to move about without needing to carry an umbrella.
By day, it is an open space flooded with natural light; by night, it is illuminated, creating a fantastical atmosphere and making it a popular photo spot.
The pillars of Kanazawa Station’s Shinkansen platform feature the finest gold leaf, while pillars throughout the station display craft plates adorned with Kaga Yuzen dyeing and washi paper.
Furthermore, traditional crafts such as Kutani ware, Wajima lacquerware, and Yamanaka lacquerware are displayed throughout the station, offering an experience akin to visiting an art museum.

他にも反対側の西口（金沢港口）には、高さ約20mで「カ」「ナ」の文字をモチーフにしたモニュメント「悠颺」などもあります

Within Kanazawa Station itself stands a rather quirky contemporary art monument titled “Kettle Form, Falling Over”.
It also serves as a popular meeting spot.
On the opposite side, at the West Exit (Kanazawa Port Exit), you’ll find the “Yu-Yo” monument, approximately 20 metres tall, featuring the characters “Ka” and “Na” as its motif.
There’s also a fountain clock that displays the time and messages, making it a recommended spot for commemorative photos.
